Selmo Feature List
all your required features for modelling your process
Studio Features
The Selmo Studio is the tool for the Selmo Solution. Drag and drop functionalities and ready-to-go building blocks ease day-to-day use.
We built it to make software programming accessible to everyone.

advantages for PLC programmers
-
Graphic Modeling Environment
Drag and Drop your required functionalities.
-
Process Structure
The model is organized into different layers for easier understanding.
-
Assembly Layer
Ready-made function blocks assist you with defining your model—import and export your functions.
-
Code generator
Based on the model, a PLC program is generated containing all functionalities, HMI and operating modes.
Advantages for machine users
-
Target system Choice
The process model is defined independently from the target system.
-
Logic Layer
The logic layer enables the user to plan the process without knowledge—easy-to-use process mapping with sequence definition and graphical overview.
-
Project Notes
Keep notes relating to details of the plant or the commissioning progress - All in one place.
-
Cost Control
Only once your machine is up and running and all requirements are met, you pay per use with Selmo Tags.
Advantages for machine manufacturers
-
Step Time Monitoring
Indication of the minimum, maximum, and average time of all states.
-
Online Modus
Enables the user to follow the plant’s steps and states in real-time.
Standard Features
Selmo standard creates a standardized environment for the universal functionality of machinery and a uniform digital language. Within this environment, the process is modeled, and the software is generated and implemented.

Advantages for plc programmers
-
Zones
Logic subsystems to control and monitor signals.
-
SeqCross
SeqCross enables sequences to run parallel.
-
Drivers
Choose from ready-made function blocks.
-
Global
This segment provides functionalities that are usable by the PLC program.
-
Constantly Monitored Zones (CMZ)
CMZ are zones that are constantly monitored independently of the sequences. This allows safety-critical zones to be monitored and automatic operation to be switched off in the event of a fault.
-
Hardware Zones (TCMZ)
Continuously monitored hardware zone. In case of a malfunction, the automatic operation is suspended.
-
Operating modes
The standard includes two operating modes and are generated without programming effort.
Advantages for machine manufacturers
-
Bit Control
Each bit is defined and monitored at any time. Every deviation is detected and diagnosed bit by bit.
-
Control
The PLC program controls the modeled process. You only define the valid states as a sequence. All your states are digitally verifiable at any given moment.
-
Monitoring & Diagnosis
The PLC program monitors every move of the machine. In case of deviations, an error is reported, and the automatic operation is suspended.
-
CMZ
An additional analyzing tool to monitor power switches, cutout switches, etc. In case of a failure, the machine stops immediately.
-
Manuel Cross Interlock Check (MXIC)
MXIC are manual cross interlocks that enable certain movements to be blocked in manual mode. A critical movement can be blocked if two movements correlate with each other. This process increases the operational safety as well as the operability of the system during operation.
Advantages for machine users
-
Sequences & Switching Logic
The PLC program monitors every move of the machine. In case of deviations, an error is reported, and the automatic operation is suspended.
-
Human machine interface (HMI)
Is the interface to the human which is used to control and diagnose the plant. It is automatically generated based on the process model and linked with the PLC software.
